Support Services
9-Week Parent & Engagement Program
HYPE’s 9-week program brings progressive Youth Empowerment Strategies (YES) to encourage students who have made poor decisions to invest in making improved choices that positively impact their lives. With a determined effort, students can convert their semester long alternative school assignment into an early return opportunity or obtain early return for the upcoming semester.
HYPE DADS are volunteers who successfully complete a national background check (applicants will be directed to https://fieldprintgeorgia.com/ to register for fingerprinting and background check services) and an application approval process through HYPE and the Clarke County School District (CCSD) Office of Behavior Supports and Discipline. HYPE DADS are mandated reporters and are responsible for conveying suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, including but not limited to physical abuse, domestic violence or abuse, sexual abuse, psychological or emotional abuse, and financial abuse.
Mission- Affirmative male role models are present in CCSD high schools to assist administrators and faculty sustain a thriving academic environment and foster connected culture with students’ regarding decision making, communication strategies, and self-management.
Purpose- The purpose of the HYPE DADs are as follows:
Welcome students at the beginning and conclusion of the school day while providing positive affirmation and/or inspiration for the school day.
Provide presence in the halls to foster structured class change and hinder lingering during learning periods.
Serve as an extra set of eyes in the hallways and around restrooms to assist in alleviating code of conduct infractions.
Restored Justice Practice
HYPE Heroes are facilitators and/or mentors who foster a positive, healthy interaction between students and CCSD staff, peers, and families. HYPE Heroes are vested in root cause analysis and strategic solutions to support student self-accountability, behavioral management, academic success, and interpersonal life skills.
